Neil Sedgwick

Neil Sedgwick - Camp Director

Neil begins his seventh year as the University of Montana head coach.  Before coming to Missoula Sedgwick served as the associate head coach at the University of Southern California for three years. He served as head coach at the University of North Dakota for two seasons (1999-2000), where he registered a 19-15 overall record. The Fighting Sioux went 12-6 in 2000 and 7-9 in 1999, the first year of the program.


In addition to coaching at North Dakota, Sedgwick has been a staff coach with the Canadian National Women’s Team since 1996. He is a 1995 graduate of Dalhousie University, with bachelor’s degrees in education and physical education. He received his master’s degree from the University of Victoria in British Columbia in 2001 and a diploma in high performance coaching from Canada’s National Coaching Institute. Neil has a Canadian Soccer Association & USSF ‘A’ license.

 

Mackenzie MurphyMackenzie Murphy - Camp Director

Mackenzie Murphy begins her second year as camp director.  Murphy, a native of Penn Valley, California played for the University of Montana from 2003-2006.  During her time as a Grizzly she played in 76 matches earning her All-Big Sky Conference honors twice as well as  a spot on the All-Big Sky Tournament team in 2006.

For the past seven years Murphy has worked as a camp counselor.  In addition, she has coached for the Missoula Strikers and has helped with a number of clinic and Academy programs in the community over the last few years.  Murphy, earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Montana.
 
Peter Underwood

Peter begins his second year with the Grizzlies in 2010. He joined the program in May 2009 after serving as an Assistant Coach with Marshall University (WV). Underwood played and coached in West Virginia for seven years after signing for Concord University in 2002.
 
A native of London, England, Underwood earned his UEFA 'A' license in 2006 and holds degrees in Sport Psychology and Athletic Administration.
 

 

Mackenzie Murphy

CJ Cooper - Goalkeeper Specialist
 
C.J. Cooper joined the Montana women’s soccer coaching staff in July 2009.

Cooper, a goalkeeper coach, worked at Gonzaga in 2008, his first season with the Bulldogs. He spent the 2006 and ’07 seasons at Hawaii-Hilo, where he was an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs. He was also involved in Hawaii’s Olympic Development Program.

Cooper played collegiately at UC Irvine (1997-2001), capping his career with first-team Big West Conference honors as a senior in 2001 when the Anteaters went 10-4-6. Cooper ranks in the top 10 in UC Irvine career history in goals against average (1.42), solo shutouts (six) and saves (74).
